CALLING ALL ARTISTS, PHOTOGRAPHERS, ARCHITECTS, AND CREATIVE MINDS:
Have you studied abroad or travelled across the globe during your time at Virginia Tech? XYZ Gallery’s next show will be showcasing art that students or faculty created while studying or travelling abroad! All media are welcome!
Why should I submit? It will give students and faculty a chance to visually share experiences abroad with the Blacksburg community in our downtown venue.
When will the show be running? The work will be showcased from September 27- October 6 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. There will be an opening reception with free food and drinks!
How do I submit? E-mail Sarah Ault at saraha9@vt.edu with a jpeg of your work, and please be sure to make the subject of the e-mail “Art Abroad.” The e-mail must also include medium, approximate size, and title. If you are chosen, Sarah will e-mail you with a drop off date and further instruction. When the work is dropped off-IT MUST BE READY TO HANG. The submission deadline will be September 24th at 5pm.
Thank you for your support of XYZ Gallery!

ATTENTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you have submitted art to XYZ Gallery in the past, and haven’t come to pick it up, please come get it on Wednesday, September 21st at 6 pm. If you do not come pick it up, it will become XYZ’s property. We will be selling it at our “Cookies and Art” sale on the following Sunday. Show Opening
Friday, August 26, 2011
XYZ Gallery is pleased to announce their first show of the semester:
“I Know What You Did Last Summer”
We are asking all students to consider submitting art work that they completed over the summer. This can be work that was completed in a class, on a rainy day, or on vacation! All media is welcome. Feel free to submit painting, drawings, photographs, sculpture, or textiles. All art types of art will be considered! The show will run from September 13th (Art opening reception) until September 22nd. It will give students a chance to show off artwork in a gallery located in downtown Blacksburg!
How do I submit? You must send an email to saraha9@vt.edu with a subject title “I know what you did last summer submissions.” In the e-mail, you must include your phone number, full name, details of the work (dimensions, medium, title), and a photograph of the work in jpeg format. THE WORK MUST BE READY TO HANG UPON DROPOFF. That means wired with a mat or frame. If your work is selected, you will be informed off a drop off date. Also- at this point there is no limit for how many works you can submit, but if we have a lot of people submitting, we may ask you to choose your favorite work.
If you are unsure about anything or have questions, please contact Sarah Ault at saraha9@vt.edu.
