'Silent Night' Call for Submissions
What: The XYZ Art Gallery is hosting our second annual Silent Night Auction! It will be a silent auction event with music, food, friends, and AWESOME ARTWORK. We are looking for submissions in all media- painting, drawing, graphic design, photography, ceramics, jewelry, and mixed media. Anything craft related is also encouraged.
When: Friday, December 2nd, from 6-10pm.
Where: XYZ Art Gallery, 223 N. Main Street, Located above Pita Vera and Joe’s Diner.
Why: The goal of this event is to fundraise for the XYZ Gallery through a spirited night of bidding on artwork. You will have a chance to showcase your work in a fun holiday setting while enjoying live music along with free food and drinks.
How: To attend the event, tickets will be $2 in advance (ticket sales will be announced on our blog and facebook) and $3 at the door. If you would like to submit, please e-mail Sarah Ault at xyzartgallery@gmail.com and follow the directions below.
E-mail submission directions:
Please e-mail pictures of the work that you are submitting. Title the email “Silent Night Submissions" and send it to xyzartgallery@gmail.com.
There will be a $5 submission fee to submit as much work as you’d like. This money will go directly to the gallery's operational costs to ensure the continuation of showcasing local and student artists in our space. Anyone submitting artwork will attend the event free of charge.
In the email, please include the title of the work, your full name, approximate size of the work, medium, and your phone number.
Please include the amount of your profit that you would like to donate to XYZ (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%). Also include a minimum bid (one-third to one-half of the estimated value is encouraged). Many people attending the show will be students, so please keep their budget in mind to ensure that your work will sell.
After you submit, you will be informed of a drop off time for the work. This will be one or two weeks before the auction.
And lastly, please be sure that your work is ready to hang! This is mandatory because we will not have time to wire or frame anything that you drop off.
